Dungeon Grind
A downloadable game for Windows
This is a small rogue-lite where you grind for characters, upgrades and masteries in order to push deeper and deeper into the dungeon.
You will choose your character, enter a 5x5 grid board, fight your way through enemy after enemy, defeat bosses, grow stronger, and get out with a pretty haul before getting right back into it.
Noteable contents:
- Technically 14 characters to choose from and play, each with their own unique items, gimmicks and interactions
- Several enemies and bosses to encounter, both the plain kind and overly annoying kind
- Over 100 (hopefully unlockable) achievements
- Shop upgrades and masteries to help your character go further down
- An attempt at a save file system and some pseudo control support
Developer's notes:
- To be completely blunt with all of you, the only thing I made in this game is the art, otherwise this game's code and music/sfx were made with the help of Claude AI.
- I understand this fact may turn away people, but I'd rather be upfront about this fact give how polarizing this subjects tends to be.
- For those still interested, this game is inspired by a game I played a long time ago on mobile called "Look Your Loot". I loved the game as a concept but it has not gotten content patches in a long time and the servers for the leader boards have been dropped months back judging by the reviews.
- The main characteristics inspired by it are the grid combat, as well as the concept of some of the characters and their class items.
- This game was started on Claude's AI free trial on a whim one night before getting way to invested and buying the premium version for a month. The development time was roughly that window, so about 4-5 weeks from the initial prototype to it's current state.
- The game itself is coded in lua and runs using LOVE2D.
- Depending on the reception and my own free time, I will come back to fix reported issues and if the interest is somehow far more than anticipated I made fully polish this game project and upload it to Steam for something like 3 dollars.
Install instructions
In theory, it should be able to run directly as long as all its contents are extracted to the same folder.
